LAST DAYS - FLASH SALE! DisCO Days 2025

Come co-create and play with new friends, old friends, and the beautiful land of Western Spain. Learn about DisCO, restore your energy, share your dreams, build connections, work towards better futures! Last places still available!

DisCO Days is our first rolling DisCO Residency in the lush Ambroz Valley of western Spain. The beautiful and vulnerable land and its welcoming people are the best part of the area, along with YOU joining us to have a late summer/early autumn experience.

From Aug 31 to October 31st, DisCO.coop has rented some exceptionally beautiful guest houses and private homes in Segura de Toro for invitees only. Segura de Toro is a tiny town (180 inhabitants) about 15 minutes outside Hervás, where DisCO co-founders Ann Marie and Stacco are headquartered.

Not a conference, not a vacation, but a relaxed residency where you bring your own rhythm: decide when to arrive, stay as long as you like (1 week minimum), and mix work, play, and connection. Your minimum scheduling commitment is the twice-weekly, half-day afternoon meetings with all attendees and the DisCO team. There are also multiple working groups, orientation sessions, workshops, live music, a full program that will adapt as we go, mixing meaningful social and environmental time.

What's your Story?

We want to hear about your own projects, dreams, challenges. Let’s see how we can collaborate and mutually support our common aims. Most of all, let’s reimagine and deepen the care-based practices that hold us together.

Kairos & Play Time:

You’ll have ample time in beautiful locations for your own projects but also recreation: hiking, yoga, callisthenics, river swims, coaching/healing, great local food and drinks, plus exploring the beautiful Ambroz Valley. Get geeky with tech, get freaky with tarot, get squeaky with karaoke. Take a siesta, a walk or a cold swim. Plan side quests. You'll be spoilt for choice.

DisCO Jamming

Among other many ventures (check out The DisCO Project for the full rundown) here are some of the main programmes being incubated during DisCO Days.

The DisCO Pink Paper

Six years in the making, the DisCO Pink Paper is a collaborative, multimedia, AI-free, open-source living artwork. We want to include your voice in reimagining, and in deepening the care-based practices that hold us together. We want to dream together.

Other.net

DisCO's Community Supported Digital Commons project has evolved into Other.net. We are codesigning hardware and software systems for tangible anticapitalist, decolonial, intersectional feminist near term futures. This is not about reinventing the wheel; rather, it’s about restoring, maintaining and threading existing protocols with excellent UX, all towards building the “other internet”.

Sonic Flow

Is a music streaming project that emerged from Resonate.coop and its Manifesto. Sonic Flow confronts the exploitative dynamics of the music industry (both old and new) by unpacking its racialised, gendered economic structures. This project aims to offer viable  alternatives for musicians and other artists.

Not so familiar with DisCO? Check out the DisCO Basics, our interactive guide to all things DisCO with pop-up definitions, summaries and plenty of resources. Basics is optimised for mobile devices and end-of-the-world non-linear reading, won't take up much data and will turn you into a DisCO-Ninja in no time.

Rhythms, Costs & Logistics

DisCO Days runs on DisCOnomics. We're applying the 7 DisCO Principles to our residency model. Let's break that down:

DisCO Days is not an event that favours the privileged but a space for peer to peer co-creation. Not all peers are created equal so we're directly addresing economic, racialized and gendered realities as we iterate on the economic model for DisCO Days.

Inclusivity, Solidarity and DisCO Pricing

To date, we have fully sponsored 26 persons without the means to pay the full rate or their travel. To keep DisCO Days sustainable we use DisCO Pricing, this basically means that we will ask you to pay a price within your means that is similar or lower to similar residencies in P2P/Commons, Decentralized Tech and Feminist spaces.

If you have the means and can pay it forward with a contribution to DisCO, please let us know when you book your place. Here are some basic guidelines for solidarity pricing and what your contribution will archive:

  • 500€/week - the basic cost for 1 person (lodging, transportation within the valley, carework, access to all activities, special perks 1and more).

    • 400 € for each subsequent week (3 weeks max)

    • 1600 € for one month total (3+ weeks)

  • 750€/week - partial support for people with reduced financial means.

    • 600 € for each subsequent week (3 weeks max)

    • 2400 € for one month total (3+ weeks)

  • 1000€/week - full support for 1 person with reduced financial means.

    • 800 € for each subsequent week (3 weeks max)

    • 3200 € for one month total (3+ weeks)

These are at-cost price for us which covers your lodging and our labour so we can host a small group with fully individualized care and attention.

Your contribution may support attendance for people who have expressed interest but who cannot cover their travel. Depending on the response, your contributions may also support our ability to pay for additional lodging and logistical and care work as attendance and needs for transport and coordination grow.

LAST MINUTE SALE! Everything Must Go

UPDATE: There are a limited number of slots left between now and October 31st. If you can cover your transport, simply pay what you can afford.2 Read the link on DisCO Pricing above and contact us to secure your place.3

Length of Stay, Food, etc

As long as you want! It's preferable that you stay at least one week, ideally two. This will let all of us get the most out of DisCO Days and help us with logistics and costs. You’ll be responsible for your own daily needs (food, etc.) within your group house, and your travel costs, although we are here to help you with logistics and navigation.

If you cannot afford the minimum rate but want to attend, please contact us. We’ll put you on a waiting list pending contributions from other attendees or funders. We are dependent on those who can pay full price to cover for those who can't, so feel free to forward this invite to individuals who'd be down with the DisCO Vibe and can help contribute to our DisCOnomic model.

A transparent budget/expense spreadsheet for contributors will be available on request.
